'Prophetesses’ beaten up as snake emerges from handbag

Tension gripped Githiga village in Kangema, Kenya on Sunday, after four people claiming to be prophets were attacked by members of the public after a snake emerged from one of the bags they were carrying. The ‘prophets’ who included two women, attracted a huge crowd as they prayed for the sick-and they held Bibles in their hands before hell broke loose after a snake was spotted finding its way out of one of the handbags. Members of the public turned their anger at the self-proclaimed clergy, and they forced them to cut short the prayers.
